Doc Rivers expects Kevin Garnett back

Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers believes KG will come back and play for the Celtics

A lot on how the Boston Celtics approach tonight’s NBA draft hangs on the decision of Kevin Garnett. With Ray Allen most likely bolting to the Clippers or the Heat, Kevin Garnett’s decision to continue playing or to hang up the high-tops has the Celtics future in the balance. If he returns, the Celtics will likely try and create one last run at the NBA title just as the Spurs did this year and they will select players who will complement the core of Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and KG. If he goes… well let’s not think about according to Doc Rivers.

“Absolutely … Let’s just say yes. Positive thinking. I hope he comes back, and I think he will,” said the Celtics’ coach. “I have no basis for that. I just believe that he will.”

There you have that but keep this in mind. If the Celtics make big moves to get into the top half of this draft like say couple picks 21 and 22 to take a lottery pick, Celtics GM and president Danny Ainge might know something we don’t.
