KG and Co. Travel to 8 mile to persuade Sheed

So remember the playoffs this past year when KG was out and we had absolutely no size coming off the bench? Mikki Moore was horrible. Powe was hurt. We actually had to play Scal and (deep breath) he didn’t do that bad… Well with the rest of the Eastern Conference making moves early in the free agency period its time for us to do something. Let’s face it: It doesn’t look like Big Baby is coming back as I just read that teams were seriously interested in him meaning he’ll most likely get a overpaid  $6 M dollar contract somewhere else. Danny Ainge went public saying that after his third knee surgery Leon Powe is gone, who is getting offers from Orlando, Miami, and Memphis. The Big 3 aren’t getting any younger, our young bench that I thought we would be able to bank on long after the Big 3 are in the hall have now all dispersed. Sure we will most likely have Rondo and Perk for the long haul, but we need to win titles now. Realistically, I’ll say we have three years left at the top of the East, maybe four. That is why it is so important that we get ‘Sheed now.  KG, Doc, Wyc, Danny, Jesus Shuttlesworth, and The Truth all reportedly flew out to Detroit to try to persuade Wallace into coming to Boston.  I can’t stress enough how badly this needs to happen. The Cavs Bring in ‘The Big Witness’ in Shaq, who i honestly think is going to show up in shape and poised to win this year just like his first year in Miami. The Cavs are also very much in the discussion for Ron Artest. This scares me. Not only do we have to worry about the Cavs, but the Magic, and suddenly the Pistons. Detroit lost Iverson and Sheed, but picked up ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. Now their rotation will be: Stuckey, Gordon, Rip, Tayshaun, Villanueva, Maxiell, which isn’t really comforting.

What ‘Sheed has to offer is a big man who can post up and rebound with the leagues’ power forwards, but he can also shoot the three ball as well. He is a hungry veteran who has been in the finals and deep in the playoffs in his career. Sure, he might be a little nutty every once in a while, but I don’t mind that. I loved Manny on the Sox and I think he would give the Celts something of that nature. Can’t you just see him first game of the year coming off the bench, huckin’ up a deep three crowd yelling “Shhhheeeeeeeddd” drains it and gets hit on the arm. The Ref doesn’t call a foul and him getting T’d up so fast. I would love to just see Doc’s reaction, which I guarantee would be a smile. His long time buddy, KG could control him, and at any time we could be big on the floor. Depending the team we were playing the matchups would change but Perk could come out he go in. Imagine Rondo, Sheed, and the Big 3 all on the court at once? It gets me pumped up for this season just thinking about it. Everyone said that Posey was the big player we missed from the bench last year. I would much rather the three-inch taller Wallace, who has averaged nearly 6 points per game in his career then Posey. I’m praying this deal happens, and would love to rock a 36 Sheed Celts jersey.
How can you not want a guy who yells “Ball don’t lie” when someone misses a free throw, shows off his Ford Bronco on MTV Cribs, and has a patch in his head? I know I would love him in Boston.
One Love.
