Ray Lewis needs to Shut the Eff Up
Honestly, I have always sort of disliked Ray Lewis. There never really seems to be a reason, besides the fact that he killed someone, but there’s just been this dislike of him for as long as I can remember.
This just adds to the general overall dislike of him.
“Without totally going off the wall here, it’s embarrassing to the game,” Lewis said “You can’t do that. [Tom] Brady’s good enough to make a play. Let him make his own play. You can’t end the play like that, and then throw the flag. No, man. The embarrassing part is when he understands that, and he walks up to one of us and says, ‘Oh, that was a cheap one.’”
Cheap one? Any chance that TFB is talking about how that was a fucking cheap shot at Tom Brady’s knee? I’m not talking because out of bias here either. If Vince Wilfork, for example, dove at Joe Flacco’s knees in a takeout move, I would agree that should be a penalty. You can’t dive at a players knee to try and take him out. It’s against the rules for a reason.
Here’s the thing though. I have always been a person that says that it is football and people will get hurt and I actually disagree with the rule. The QB should be allowed to get hit, with minor rules because the QB is usually the most valuable member of the team, but the rules basically state right now that you cannot hit a QB low like to try and take him out. And even if Suggs didn’t hit Brady (which I don’t think he did) just the intent to injure like that is very unsportsmanlike.
That’s in the past now. Broncos coming up this weekend. Master vs. Student. I fully believe that the Patriots are back, be it a 2003/2004 defensive pound the rock style Patriots team, but the Patriots nonetheless. This should be a great game to watch. Can’t wait.
3-1
Until Next Time
