Why BC did not lose because of me.

I am a very superstitious person when it comes to sports. I feel like when I wear the same thing to games and the team is on a streak, to continue doing so. I can assure you that Boston College did not lose to Duke at Cameron Indoor because of my “jinx” that Benti previously referred to.

I woke up that morning feeling very good about the game. I just had a feeling that BC would win. I have made some ridiculous predictions in my life time… Remember that Syracuse/Uconn game that went into six overtimes in the Big East tourney last year? Yeah, well I predicted that game would go into 4+ overtimes. I have witnesses if you don’t believe me.
I make predictions on a constant basis, during the overtime of the Arizona/ Green Bay game last weekend, I said it would be a pick-six for the game, the next play it was a fumble returned for a touchdown. I know I wasn’t right, but I was on the right path.
So back to this Duke game. I woke up that morning feeling good about the game, immediately texted my buddy who is a Duke fan and PREDICTED BC would win.  I also told my roommate who is a Duke fan that BC was going to win the game. I make predictions, I made a prediction, it wasn’t right. As far as the whole “jinx” thing goes and Benti’s argument that i single handedly lost BC the game with my prediction or as he calls it a “jinx” it’s absurd.
I feel like I am at the level of a BC fan where I can make picks like that. I picked my team to win a game, that they had no business winning (let’s face it when you lose to Northern Iowa, Maine, Harvard, and URI *Harvard and URI coming back to back* all in the same year, you don’t really have a good shot at Duke).
I didn’t expect BC to win, I’m not shocked they lost. I just had a feeling that they would win the game. I don’t know why, I guess a hunch, but it didn’t work out. Going 1-10 from 3-point land and shooting 60% from the charity stripe doesn’t exactly help either.
I think a “jinx” is more defined as when you say a pitcher is going to throw a perfect game entering the 9th inning and then chokes, well that’s a real jinx.  Saying that a just .500 team will beat Duke on the road, well I guess if you really wanna say that was a jinx then so be it, I call it wishful thinking… That obviously didn’t pan out.
One Love.
