I agree that Nomar is not a hall of famer because injuries hampered and plagued the rest of his career since at least 2004, some may say since his rist injury in 2001. But while he was with the Red Sox, he was set for Cooperstown and was arguably the best shortstop in the game at the time. He hit a career .323 average as a member of the Sox and is no question a Red Sox Hall of Famer. But keep in mind, the Red Sox did retire Johnny Pesky's number 6 2 years ago even though he is not a hall of Famer.

Demon's number should not be retired

Ethan,The only one who would EVER get retired is Pedro. He's a hall of famer and he would deserve it. Nomar is NOT a hall of famer and Johnny Damon is not either. Neither of them are getting their number retired. The point of the article is that he hates Nomar and he is saying "Well if Nomar got the one day treatment, why don't we give it to Clemens and Little too?"Shaughnessy is dumb.

Other guys Shaughnessy forgot to mention:Pedro Martinez-deservingJohnny Demon- questionablePedro I think is the one other guy that should get a retirement like Nomah's. Johnny Demon is still very questionable considering he signed himself and his soul to the Devil in NY
